Religion and Science: Can They Coexist in the Modern World Since the dawn of man, humans have struggled to explain the many mysteries of the universe, and to justify their existence in it. Throughout this journey of self-understanding, numerous standpoints about human existence have evolved and merged into a complex, abstract manifestation called religion. Advances in science and technology have yielded a new breed of human thought that has disturbed and shaken the foundations of religious ideology. Religion and ritual have been of significant cultural importance throughout the history of mankind. People, in which these spiritual activities were originated from, invented and relied on religion and ritual as key tools for finding answers to the unknown.

A reason why this is a fairly common belief in Christianity is because of the fact that God has control over justice and mercy and also that God is a forgiving and loving God who believes in second chances. Another example of the Bible affecting our views of Jesus and redemption and furthermore our insight on mercy and justice is chapter fifty-three in the book of Isaiah. The USA is full of different kinds of people, cultures, and religions which causes Globalization to be a big part of the United States. This country, at its core, is about tolerance of others so it is no surprise that there are so many different kinds of ideas. Collectively, we profit from our religious beliefs. Many could argue that religion would be a missing link in society and we would not function without it. Religion promotes critical virtues in which are important in society such as truth, love, non-violence and discipline.
